Our history

Our origins date back to 1585, when the Carthusian monks bought the Fourvoirie estate and subsequently operated a metallurgical business, earning them the title of "Maîtres de Forge". Three centuries later, the site was given over to Paul Paturle for the manufacture of files and cutting tools.

That's how our story began, over 130 years ago...

  • Etablissements Paturle is born, specializing in the manufacture of files and rasps under the registered trademark "Le Sapin Fourvoirie". A few years later, in 1895, a corset busk factory is founded on a second site.

  • Faced with difficulties in sourcing raw materials, Paul PATURLE installed Cold Rolling and tempering equipment for steel strips at the Fourvoirie site so that the company would no longer be dependent on steel suppliers.

  • The file factory is located in the heart of Saint Laurent du Pont, producing files of all sizes for dentists, watchmakers, precision mechanics, wood saw sharpeners and farriers.
